Trekking around Aracena

Trekking around Aracena

Last week, we went to Sierra de Aracena in order to do some trekking. The first day, we left Lepe at nine o'clock and we arrived Galaroza at eleven o'clock. Later, we started the path from Galaroza to Fuenteheridos. This path was plenty of the Sierra de Aracena's characteristic flora. Besides, there were many rivers that we crossed. The first stop was in Castaño del Roble where there was a fountain and we ate there. In the next part of the road, we had to walk in a terrain more mountainous and with steeper slopes. What's more, we saw some sheeps and pigs. Finally, we arrived Fuenteheridos at four o'clock and we settled in a hostel in the outskirts of the town.
We left our bargains and we went to visit Fuenteheridos where we met an old man who told us some of his anecdotes. There was an ancient church bigger that Lepe's church. At nine o'clock, we returned to the hostel in order to have lunch and before we went to sleep we saw a fox.
Next day, we woke up at seven o'clock and we went to have breakfast. After, we left the hostel and we started walking towards Aracena. We took the path from Fuenteheridos to Aracena. In the first part, we had to walk up a very steep and long slope. Later, we arrived Los Marines where the Odiel's river rises. In that town, there is a fountain from which flows water of the Odiel's river. The next part was flatter, therefore we could do it without problems. Almost at the middle of the path there is a road so we had to be careful acorssing it. We stopped in Cortijo de Bañuelas and we took a rest, at that point we needed it. Before we arrived Aracena, our last challenge was to walk up a very long slope, that destroyed us.
In Aracena, we went to visit the Maravillas' Cave, one of the best and most beautiful cave in the world, with its amazing stalactites and stalagmites and its crystalline water lakes. After that, went to have lunch, what a nice lunch we had, and later we returned to Lepe in the bus.

Jonatan's experience: I love this kind of activities although they are hard and tired. Walking around nature is very grateful for me and if we add that we are accompanied by friends, it becomes an amazing experience. Moreover, we saw a fox and I have never seen one of them.
